Join merchant navy with biology in 12th class
You will be
unable to join in the officer cadre either in the navigation or the engineering
departments as the minimum requisite is 60% in PCM.
What you can
do is join the GP rating course which would allow you to join the saloon
department as a trainee mess man or the navigation department as a trainee
ordinary seaman or the engineering department as a trainee wiper.
You can
progress to the officer cadre via this route but it would take an additional
4–6 years depending upon your progression rate.

advised that quite a few companies these days are avoiding recruiting officers
with a crew background

understand you did from PCB and wants to join Merchant navy, although merchant
navy specifies holding PCM 60%, but i believe nothing is impossible it may just

1} DO GP RATING
COURCE
you can either join as GP rating 6 month course for
deck crew, where u need to join some institution who will train u for work
onboard ship, but it not an officer rank job, although after working for
certain years u can give exams for officer rank job, and there are many who have
become captain from this way, just the time period was longer
u will enter as deck trainee, then u will be promoted
to OS rank and then AB rank and from this point u can study and give exams and
become 3rd officer then 2nd officer then chief officer and finally captain,
considering u clear exams for every rank, not an easy way though
2} DO DME COURCE
u can do 3 yrs.’ diploma in mechanical engineering and
later do GME course of 2yrs and join ship on engine side, as Junior engineer
then 4th engg, 3rd engg,2nd Engg and final rank Chief Engineer(which is equal
to captain on deck side), exams at every level.
3} DO HOTEL
MANAGEMENT COURCE
U can join hotel management and later with experience can
apply for ship jobs as catering side, cook and etc.
Nothing is impossible, just it will take some time but
u will get to join merchant navy, it’s all about your interest
