After one year of diploma called
[dns] diploma in nautical science you become deck cadet and go to ship for 18
months sea training

Third officer ,Second officer,First office, Captain
1. Deck cadet
Deck cadet is the first rank given
after completing the courses
Responsibilities ;.
Learns ship stability, ship
management and maintenance tasks
Age in years ; > 18 – 21 Years
Years of service ; > 1 – 2 years
Monthly salary ;> Rs. 15,000 – 25,000
After completing sea training you have to give a exam and when
you get pass in that exam cadet gets
promoted and he become the Third officer
2. Third officer
Responsibilities ;. > Mainly ships navigation and its safety in
emergency
Age in years ; > 22
-25 years
Years of service ; > 3 –
5 years
Monthly salary ;> 90,000
– 1,50,000
When you completed the 36 months on
board ship again you have to give exam and after getting pass you gets promoted
and become second officer
3. Second officer
Responsibilities ;. > Maintenance of ships safety & navigational
equipments
Age in years ; > 26 -28 years
Years of service ; > 5 – 7 years
Monthly salary ;> 2,50,000 – 3,50,000
When second officer gets promotion he
become first officer
4.First officer
Responsibilities ;. > leader of deck department &
supervises the vessel crew

28 – 30 years
Years of service ; > 7 – 8 years
Monthly salary ;> 5,00,000 – 7,00,000
When first officer gets promote he
become captain and captain is the last position of deck side
5. Captain
Responsibilities ;. > leader of the ship & ensure ship safety
and its function
